Labradorite is a calcium-enriched feldspar mineral first identified in Labrador, Canada, which can display an iridescent effect. Some specimens of labradorite exhibit a schiller effect, which is a strong play of iridescent blue, green, red, orange, and yellow colors. Labradorite is so well known for these spectacular displays of color that the phenomenon is known as "labradorescence."
This Labradorite Free Form does not disappoint. Polished on all sides, this magnificent display is awash in colors that include yellow, blue, gold, and black. The black creates a tree branch-like pattern. This highly sought after specimen is large and weighs over 4 lbs, while it measures 6.5"x5" on its largest side. The video shows the unique display of colors and flash. Although the piece has multiple sides - the photos mostly highlight the spectacular front.
