The Birthstone for March is AQUAMARINE!

Aquamarine is the green-blue to blue variety of the mineral beryl.  Aquamarine is mined at high elevations in Pakistan’s Karakoram Mountains as well as more recent finds in Vietnam.  A lower grade variety of beryl is also found here in New England.  We have some stunning examples of this Mineral.

MARCH SPOTLIGHT

"March is the month of expectation." ~ Emily Dickinson

March is the time of year we anticipate the coming of Spring! We celebrate the greening of winter, as the snow melts and the first flowers burst through the earth's winter crust. Snowdrops, crocuses, and daffodils bless us with the colors and promises of green!

New Collector Starter Sets!

We've put together some starter sets for new collectors.  Priced as groups instead of individually you can save money while getting someone (or yourself) a good start.  If you are interested in individual coins, they are listed in the appropriate denomination.

Half Dimes

The half dime, or half disme, was a silver coin, valued at five cents, formerly minted in the United States between 1792-1873.

These coins were much smaller than dimes in diameter and thickness, appearing to be "half dimes". The introduction of the copper-nickel five-cent pieces made the silver coins of the same denomination redundant, and they were discontinued in 1873.
