While this specimen may not be an actual Ferruginous quartz (primarily designated by hematoid inclusions), this quartz is coated by hematite. Called by different names such as Hematoid Quartz, Tangerine Quartz, Fire Quartz, or Red Quartz - most importantly this quartz is densely coated with hematite. Quite striking against the bright white matrix, the coating can probably be scrubbed off - but why would you? 1.53 oz, 2" in length. This is lighter in color than our other specimen.
