This is a perfect specimen for someone who wants a small, affordable piece of citrine. These crystals have most likely been heat treated to achieve the deep golden brown. There is a good probability it is heat-treated amethyst, a common practice in the gem & mineral community. The matrix itself is very interesting with the band of "honey" running through the center.
