Chalcopyrite is a copper and iron sulfide. Often a brassy yellow when freshly mined, it tarnishes to an iridescent purple, blue or red when exposed to the atmosphere. This specimen does not disappoint - all colors are present. It is a lot heavier than one would expect from a chunk of rock this size. 1.07 lbs, 3.5" x 2"
