We love the gold coins! The Indian quarter eagle ($2.50) is unique for two reasons: 1. It has no rim 2. the design is incuse.  The gold dollar (1849–89) was a tiny coin measuring only 13 mm making it difficult to grasp and easy to lose, a serious problem when a dollar was almost a day's wage.  Click on each one and see why we say they are the prettiest.
