So, what’s on My Workbench (other than Wilbur)?

Finally, I get to hammer and solder and file and polish and play with stones again!
I am overwhelmed with ideas that were scrawled on bits of scrap paper and sketchpads during the months it took me to build our website.
First, there are these:
Every one of them is beautiful and calls out to be made into something special. Which one, which one?
The decision was made, with much thought, and assistance from my ‘helper’. (Seriously, Wilbur?! Chewing on a steel ring mandrel?) I am making copper bracelets!
I’m sure you have heard all the hoopla over the benefits of wearing copper bracelets. This is nothing new, as Mankind has been using copper in healing for at least 10,000 years. There is evidence of its use in healing in ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece and even the ancient Aztec civilizations.
Most notably, it is said to ease the pain and stiffness of arthritis. In addition, it has been used to cure anemia, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and heart disease. It is also said to detoxify the body, improve circulation, and increase energy.
That’s a lot to ask of a bracelet, don’t you think? Well, let’s give it a shot.
Have you noticed that they all look the same displayed at the register in health food stores and metaphysical shops? My goal is to make copper bracelets that are beautiful. Here are some ideas I am kicking around.
Some will be bangles, some cuffs, some with stones and some without stones. Wilbur will be banned from the workbench, as there will be flame involved. Pete says I am mean to kittens for locking him out of the studio.
He worked so hard today
Must be time for a catnap...
(You ARE mean to Kittens, Dear)
