It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It seems our mining season has come to an end—boo hiss! While we did enjoy a longer season with above-average temperatures throughout most of November, it's always sad to pack up the pit for winter. We also wrapped up our last event of the year at The White Memorial Conservation Center’s Sip & Shop on December 6.   Our calendar for next year is still wide open!  If you have an event you would like us to attend, email Chris with the details.  

So, what do we do all winter? Pete is deeply involved in the renovation of this old farmhouse. Currently, in what used to be the kitchen and main gathering area, he is stripping the varnish from the old shiplap boards on the walls, replacing the ceiling, and working his magic on the old oak floors. It’s wonderful to see the progress he’s made.

Meanwhile, Chris is busy in the studio, finishing pieces and starting new ones. She sets her alarm for between 3:00 and 3:30 a.m. so she can work before Oliver wakes up and sticks to her side. We will also be working on the photos on our website—there's definitely room for improvement. Sarah is helping with organizing our inventory. There’s always so much to do and so little time, but we do have fun!

Amidst all the hustle and bustle, we will manage to get the cookie baking done! Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music fills the background while Oliver and Wilbur patiently wait for someone to drop a nut or two.
