A surprisingly BLUE cluster of fluorite crystals on a bed of quartz crystals. The quartz has an area that is almost golden in color - which could be iron oxide staining or citrine.  The fluorite is light on one end and dark - just about navy - blue and formed mostly on the ends.

Fluorite is found as a common gangue mineral in hydrothermal veins, especially those containing lead and zinc minerals, it comes in a variety of colors,  which depends on impurities, exposure to radiation, and the size of the color centers.

Mined in New Mexico - the seller is one of the miners.  I can only imagine how spectacular it felt to open this vein.

The blue is difficult to capture with the camera.  This is unfortunate because it is unlike any we've ever seen.

Measures around 3" x 2" and weighs 7.38 oz.
