Vanadinite is a mineral belonging to the apatite group of phosphates. It is found in arid climates and forms by oxidation of primary lead minerals. This specimen is small but boasts lots of perfect hexagonal prisms of red/orange crystals.
Moroccan vanadinite makes up for its lack of crystal size by completely covering a matrix in tightly packed clusters and stacks of brilliant rich red multi-crystal heaps. 2 oz, 1.5" x 2"
